Paris Saint-Germain were held to a 2–2 draw at home by FC Lorient in a match heavily influenced by squad rotation, as attention clearly turns to their upcoming Champions League semi-final second leg in Munich.
Head coach Luis Enrique made several changes to his starting line-up, resting key players ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Germany. Despite that, PSG still opened the scoring early through a scrappy finish after pressure in the box.
Lorient responded quickly, taking advantage of defensive gaps to level the match and then growing into the game as PSG’s rhythm faded. The hosts lacked intensity for long spells, with the tempo dropping significantly before halftime.
The introduction of João Neves helped PSG regain control. The midfielder brought energy to the game, and PSG briefly retook the lead with a well-struck effort from distance.
However, a costly defensive error from Lucas Beraldo allowed Lorient to equalise once again, punishing PSG’s lack of concentration. In the closing stages, the home side pushed for a winner, hitting the woodwork twice, but could not find a decisive goal.
With the draw confirmed, PSG remain firmly focused on their European challenge, where everything is still to play for in Munich.
