Paul Seixas Confirmed for Tour de France: “I’ll Aim for the Best Result Possible”

French rising star Paul Seixas has officially confirmed his participation in the Tour de France, putting an end to speculation and setting ambitious goals ahead of his debut.

At just 19 years old, the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team rider will become the youngest competitor to start the race in 89 years. However, Seixas made it clear he is not riding merely for experience. “I’m very happy to announce that I’ll take part in the Tour. It’s not in my nature to ride just to discover the race I’ll aim for the best classification possible,” he said.

The Lyon-born cyclist has enjoyed a remarkable season so far, building confidence with strong performances across major races. “I’m only 19, but age is neither a barrier nor an excuse. This decision was carefully made with the team, and my results since the start of the season show I’m ready and capable of setting ambitious targets,” he added.

Before the Tour, Seixas will compete in the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as part of his preparation. In July, he is set to face some of the sport’s biggest names, including Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, Florian Lipowitz, and Isaac del Toro.
