The Zone 6 beach volleyball qualification tournament is underway at Costa do Sol Beach, featuring teams from Southern African countries competing for places in the African Championship.
Mozambique’s women’s duo, Ângela Tembe and Vanessa Muianga, advanced to the semi-finals after a tough 2–1 win over South Africa in the quarter-finals, in a match marked by strong competition and windy conditions.
The Mozambican Volleyball Federation, led by Mohamed Vala, expressed optimism about the team’s performance and hopes for qualification to the continental event scheduled for later this year.
The tournament concludes on 2 May with the semi-finals and final, followed by the next stage of the regional beach volleyball circuit on 3 May.
