Benfica Submit Offer for Galatasaray Winger Yunus Akgun

SL Benfica have reportedly submitted a formal offer to sign Yunus Akgün from Galatasaray S.K.. According to reports from Turkey, the Lisbon club offered €17 million plus a further €2 million in performance-related bonuses for the 25-year-old winger.

However, Galatasaray are said to have rejected the initial proposal, believing the Turkish international is worth significantly more. The Istanbul club are also reluctant to weaken their squad due to stricter regulations on foreign players in the Turkish league, which have increased the value of domestic talent.

Yunus Akgun remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029, and club president Dursun Özbek recently expressed his desire to keep the core of the squad together. That stance has strengthened the club’s resistance to selling one of their key attacking players during the summer transfer window.
