Marco Silva Gives Clear Update on His Future Amid Benfica Links

Marco Silva has confirmed that he will decide his future next week, amid growing speculation linking him with a move to SL Benfica as a possible successor to José Mourinho. The Portuguese coach insisted he does not “play games” regarding contract situations and promised clarity soon.

Speaking after Fulham F.C.’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle United F.C. at Craven Cottage, Silva admitted that no final decision has yet been made about whether he will remain at the Premier League club. Fulham have already offered the manager a new contract after five years in charge, but uncertainty continues to surround his future.

Silva stressed that both he and the club need to move forward quickly, adding that preparations for next season cannot be delayed any longer. Fulham finished the Premier League campaign in 11th place, narrowly missing out on qualification for the UEFA Conference League by a single point. The coach described the season as positive overall but admitted it lacked “the cherry on top” to become truly memorable.
