Benfica have secured qualification for the 2026/27 UEFA Youth League despite a narrow 2–1 defeat against Famalicão in the final round of the Portuguese U19 championship.
The Lisbon side’s qualification was confirmed thanks to FC Porto, who defeated Sporting CP 3–1 in Alcochete. That result prevented Sporting from overtaking Benfica in the standings, ensuring the Eagles finished second in the national junior league.
While Benfica had previously reached the semi-finals of the competition before being eliminated by Club Brugge, they will now enter the next Youth League campaign through the qualification rounds, including the third qualifying round and playoff stage.
FC Porto, as national champions, will enter the competition directly into the group phase, while Sporting missed out on a higher finish due to their final-day defeat.
