Pink Jersey Attack: Eulálio Shows Ambition in Giro Stage 8

Afonso Eulálio delivered a bold performance on Stage 8 of the Giro d’Italia, attacking on the final climb in Fermo to test his rivals in the general classification. Despite wearing the pink jersey, the Portuguese rider refused to ride defensively, instead pushing the pace among the race favorites including Jonas Vingegaard, Jai Hindley, and Egan Bernal.

The stage was won by Jhonatan Narváez, who repeated his success in this edition after launching a strong move from the breakaway alongside his teammates. Behind him, Eulálio showed climbing strength and confidence, accelerating on the steep ramps in the final kilometer and reducing the leading group to fewer than 20 riders.

Although he was eventually overtaken in the closing meters by several GC contenders, Eulálio finished safely with the main favorites and retained the overall lead. His aggressive approach confirmed both his form and his intention to actively control the race rather than simply defend the jersey.

Now wearing the maglia rosa for a third consecutive day, the young Portuguese rider continues to surprise in the mountains, showing both tactical awareness and growing confidence as the Giro enters a decisive phase.
