Mathias de Amorim could become another Famalicão “jackpot”

The outstanding season so far from Franco-Portuguese midfielder Mathias de Amorim has not gone unnoticed across European football, and another major sale is increasingly likely for Famalicão’s SAD, a club known for turning talent into significant financial returns.

The 21-year-old Portugal U21 international was decisive at the weekend in Famalicão’s comeback against Benfica, helping his side recover from 0-2 down to secure a 2-2 draw. First, he struck at the near post to beat Trubin, and later provided the assist for Abubakar’s equaliser.

This performance is just one highlight in a strong season for the midfielder, who arrived at Famalicão from Bordeaux in relative obscurity. Although Transfermarkt currently values him at around €6 million, multiple sources suggest the club will demand at least €15 million for any potential transfer.

Interest is already coming from both the Premier League and Ligue 1, although no formal offer has yet been made. Negotiations are expected to develop over the coming months.

Famalicão’s reputation for profitable sales is well established, with previous deals including Pedro Gonçalves, Manuel Ugarte, Luiz Júnior, Iván Jaime, and Otávio Ataíde, all sold for fees above €10 million. The club may once again be preparing a “jackpot” sale this summer.

Mathias de Amorim has recorded five goals and two assists in 31 matches this season, combining technical quality with intensity, attributes that make him an attractive prospect for higher-level European football.
