Hamilton’s driving leaves Leclerc terrified during Ferrari electric car presentation

Ferrari stars unveil new all-electric Luce as promotional video goes viral

Ferrari’s presentation of the new Ferrari Luce the company’s first fully electric road car produced plenty of attention, criticism and even a viral moment involving Formula 1 teammates Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

While the new model has faced heavy criticism over its design and triggered a significant drop in Ferrari’s stock market value, a promotional video featuring Hamilton and Leclerc testing the car at Fiorano quickly became one of the most talked-about moments surrounding the launch.

Ferrari shares suffer after Luce launch

The Ferrari Luce was officially unveiled two days ago as the Italian manufacturer’s first 100 per cent electric production vehicle.

However, the reception from investors and many Ferrari enthusiasts was far from positive. Following the presentation, Ferrari shares reportedly dropped by 8.3 per cent on the Milan stock exchange.

The value per share fell from €309.70 to €288.20, representing an estimated market value loss of approximately €4.86 billion.

Despite the criticism aimed at the design, Ferrari highlighted the Luce’s impressive technical performance figures. The electric supercar produces more than 1,000 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed above 310 km/h.

Hamilton scares Leclerc during Fiorano test drive

As part of the launch event, Ferrari Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were invited to reveal and test the new vehicle at the Fiorano circuit.

During one promotional segment, Leclerc sat in the passenger seat while Hamilton took control of the car an experience the Monegasque driver clearly did not enjoy.

Accustomed to driving himself and making decisions at high speed, Leclerc appeared increasingly uncomfortable as Hamilton continued pushing the car harder around the circuit.

“Why are they making me do this?” Leclerc sighed during the video.

As Hamilton laughed and accelerated even more aggressively, Leclerc repeatedly begged his teammate to slow down.

“No, no, no, no… please don’t do that,” Leclerc pleaded.

“LH, LH, LH, LH… careful, careful… WOW! LH! Stop!”

Later, in an interview, Leclerc jokingly told Hamilton that he had been “driving like a madman”.

Hamilton enjoyed every second

Unlike his visibly nervous teammate, Hamilton appeared to fully enjoy both the car and the moment.

After completing the lap, the seven-time world champion praised Ferrari’s new electric machine.

“Uh! Beautiful, very beautiful,” Hamilton said with a smile.

The amusing interaction between the two Ferrari stars quickly spread across social media and became one of the standout moments of the Luce launch campaign.
