Guardiola to Leave Manchester City as Enzo Maresca Emerges as Leading Successor

With reports suggesting that Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, attention has quickly shifted to who could take over at the Etihad Stadium. Enzo Maresca has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed the Spanish manager.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the former Chelsea coach already has a verbal agreement in place to sign a three-year contract with Manchester City.

Recent managerial changes across Europe may have accelerated Guardiola’s expected departure. Xabi Alonso’s appointment at Chelsea, Luis Enrique’s contract extension with PSG, and José Mourinho’s move from Benfica to Real Madrid reportedly pushed City to secure Maresca before other clubs could make an approach.

In addition to Maresca, who impressed during his spells at Leicester City and Chelsea, several other managers are also being considered by bookmakers in England.
