The Ukrainian sports news is dominated by revelations about the player, who is going through a psychologically delicate period at Benfica.
Heorhii Sudakov, midfielder for Benfica and the Ukrainian national team, is reportedly experiencing a psychologically challenging period with a significant impact on his career, journalist Mykhailo Spivakovsky revealed.
The matter is dominating sports news in Ukraine, and according to the same journalist, the 23-year-old player, who hasn’t played in Benfica’s last four matches and is reportedly not in the good graces of coach José Mourinho, has even confessed to his close circle that he feels exhausted.
The information was shared on the YouTube channel TaToTake, where Spivakovsky provided details about the midfielder’s state of mind: “I heard from my sources something potentially shocking: that Sudakov recently told his close circle that he is exhausted and tired of football, that he no longer feels pleasure doing what has been his life.”
The Ukrainian journalist compared Sudakov’s situation to that of Mudryk, the winger who moved to Chelsea with great promise but never succeeded and was even suspended for doping, emphasizing that in the case of the Benfica midfielder, “the problem is not due to inexperience, lack of understanding, or ignorance.”
The move to Benfica has affected Sudakov, who left his comfort zone and is struggling to adapt to the new situation, Spivakovsky adds: “He encountered a more hostile environment, with competition, where he can end up on the bench… This is new for him. These are new challenges. Probably, not everything is going the way he’d like.”
The midfielder lives in Portugal with his wife Liza and their two daughters.
