Benfica are aware that SC Braga are willing to negotiate Zalazar for €30 million, remaining firm on that valuation. However, the Lisbon club is exploring ways to reduce the fee, considering options such as purchasing a percentage of the player’s rights, including a future sell-on clause, or even involving players in the deal.
SC Braga president António Salvador remains inflexible, insisting on a full cash payment. Despite this stance, Benfica are open to including Tiago Gouveia in the transfer. The 24-year-old winger, who was on loan at Nice, will return to Benfica but is not part of the plans for next season. While he is open to a move to Braga, his salary could be an obstacle.
Zalazar is one of Benfica’s top targets for next season, and talks between the clubs are ongoing, with Benfica aiming to move ahead of potential competitors. It is worth noting that in January, Zenit offered €20 million, but the deal did not go through due to financial restrictions related to Russia.
