Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized in Florida, Listed in Critical but Stable Condition

NEW YORK , Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City, has been hospitalized in Florida and is in a “critical but stable” condition, according to his spokesperson. The 81-year-old, who gained fame for his leadership following the September 11 attacks and earned the nickname “America’s Mayor,” has not disclosed the cause of his hospitalization.

Spokesperson Ted Goodman posted on social media: “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”

Giuliani appeared on his podcast, America’s Mayor Live, on Friday night, commenting on current events including tensions with Iran. He acknowledged that his voice was “a little under the weather” but did not reveal any further health concerns. By late Sunday, his condition had reportedly become critical, prompting hospitalization.

President Donald Trump praised Giuliani on Truth Social, calling him a “True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR,” and lamented his hospitalization, suggesting without evidence that Giuliani had been targeted politically.

Giuliani served two terms as mayor of New York City, leading the city through the 9/11 attacks. Earlier in his career, he was a federal prosecutor who took on organized crime and Wall Street corruption, which propelled him to national prominence. In recent years, he became Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, advocating false claims about the 2020 election results, for which he was disbarred. He also faced a defamation lawsuit from two Georgia election workers, resulting in a nearly $150 million judgment.

Giuliani was previously hospitalized in September following a car accident in New Hampshire. Details regarding the current hospitalization, including the underlying cause and expected duration, have not been released.
