Former Ohio State standout and Super Bowl champion ends career following stints with Colts, Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys
Wide receiver Parris Campbell has announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of 28, bringing an abrupt end to a seven-year professional career marked by flashes of promise and persistent injuries.
According to the Dallas Cowboys organization, Campbell will be placed on the Reserve/Retired List, officially ending his time with the franchise after signing a reserve/futures contract earlier in the year.
A former second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Campbell entered the league with the Indianapolis Colts after a standout college career at Ohio State, where he helped win a College Football Playoff National Championship and earned All-Big Ten honors.
Over his NFL career, Campbell accumulated 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns, also spending time with the New York Giants and briefly joining the Philadelphia Eagles, where he was part of the organization during their Super Bowl-winning run.
Despite his early potential, his career was heavily affected by injuries, limiting his availability during his first seasons in the league and preventing him from fully establishing himself as a consistent offensive contributor.
He leaves the NFL with approximately $10.6 million in career earnings and a Super Bowl ring, closing the chapter on a career that combined collegiate success with an injury-hit professional journey.
