FIA Investigates Esteban Ocon Over Tyre Pressure Procedure at Canadian GP Sprint

Esteban Ocon faced scrutiny after the sprint race at the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, following a report from the FIA regarding a potential irregularity in tyre pressure procedures on his car #31 in Montreal.

According to the FIA document, the Haas team initially completed a tyre pressure check at 11:51 local time with all wheels fitted. However, just minutes later, at 11:56, the team allegedly released air from the rear-left tyre while the wheel was already installed on the car and positioned on the grid. This action may be in breach of standard operational procedures governing tyre management in Formula 1.

The case was referred to the stewards for investigation under Articles 2.2, 2.7, and 2.8 of the FIA tyre operation regulations. If confirmed, the infringement could have led to disqualification from the sprint classification at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

However, an update later confirmed that the stewards decided not to apply any penalty or disqualification to Ocon, clearing him of the alleged breach and allowing his sprint result to stand.
